Understanding Shoulder Pain
Shoulder pain commonly arises from rotator cuff strain, frozen shoulder, impingement or injury. Because the shoulder has a wide range of motion, even small mechanical issues can cause noticeable restriction, making early assessment important for a faster recovery.
Common Symptoms
- Difficulty raising the arm overhead or behind the back
- Pain that disturbs sleep, especially lying on the affected side
- Stiffness that gradually worsens over weeks (frozen shoulder pattern)
- Weakness while lifting or carrying objects
- Pain triggered by specific movements like reaching or throwing
Treatment Approach
Most shoulder pain is treated with targeted physiotherapy, stretching protocols and anti-inflammatory care. Frozen shoulder is managed with a structured mobility program, and persistent rotator cuff issues may need imaging-guided injections. Surgery is reserved for confirmed structural tears or cases unresponsive to conservative treatment.
